Sneak Peek: Tarot, Mystics and the Occult Exhibition at Light Grey Art Lab, Minneapolis

Jayro is proud to announce that we participated in Light Grey Art Lab’s juried exhibition, Tarot, Mystics and the Occult to be held in Minneapolis on October 26th, 2012. 78 artists participated in creating a custom art piece for every Tarot card in the Rider-Waite deck. Light Grey Art Lab will be producing a limited run of Tarot decks and selling prints of each of the pieces. For more information, check out their blog: Tarot, Mystics and the Occult

For now here’s a tiny sneak-peek! Enjoy, stargazers!

Pixar Times Blog Salutes The Pixar Heroine

To honor of the launch of Pixar’s latest film, and celebrate one of their first female lead characters, Jayro was asked to participate in The Pixar Times‘ Salute to The Pixar Heroine Pixart show. We were incredibly excited to participate and work with Jerrod Maruyama again.

After a series of afternoon doodles and some trepidation over which character to choose, a fun gesture drawing led to Jayro’s contribution below. You can follow this link to see all the great submissions: Pixar Times Salutes The Pixar Heroine

Silver Screen Society

Jayro was thrilled to participate in this month’s edition of the Silver Screen Society where designers and illustrators are asked to create art based on a specific movie chosen by the curators, Trevor Basset and Brandon Schaefer. The month of June is dedicated to Walt Disney’s Fantasia, and it was extremely gratifying to work with such an iconic film and to have the opportunity to play with Disney characters for the first time. We can honestly say we now have the bug to work on more Disney related pieces, so check out the Silver Screen Society page for other great movie interpretations, and keep an eye out for future Disney related pieces from Jayro.

New Work: CARE International Illustration for International Women’s Day Report

Jayro worked with CARE International to create illustrations for their report on women’s empowerment globally. The report created for International Women’s Day focuses on the impact of women’s empowerment on a micro and macro level and the difference it is making in the areas of the world where it is happening.  The illustrations and the report/video can be viewed here: http://www.care.org/getinvolved/IWD/IWD-report.asp
